Philosophy
The Children’s Center for Language and Culture (ChiCeLaCu!) is accredited by the Virginia Department of Education. It provides both full-time and part-time preschool and Spanish language classes for children at its schools in Fairfax City and Tysons-Vienna / Falls Church. Through engaging and effective curricula, children not only learn Spanish but also gain exposure to various Latin American cultures, integrating classroom instruction with music, mathematics, science, history, and the visual and performing arts. ChiCeLaCu promotes a secular educational environment that fosters creativity, encourages critical thinking, and upholds the value of free expression and respect for all.
Acquiring a new language enhances a child’s intellectual, emotional, and social growth. It shapes their worldview and nurtures an appreciation for diversity and acceptance of individual differences. While achieving language proficiency requires time and commitment, the rewards are substantial. Our objective is for students to attain Spanish proficiency within four years with a long-term curriculum from Preschool through 6th grade.
